My Dad Owns a Dealership...

Chest-bumping Bush channels frat-boy side

George Bush is showing signs he's warming to the role of lame duck president, ignoring protocols of office and engaging in some macho chest-bumping in front of the cameras with US Air Force Academy graduates.

The Texas native, who has eight months left as US president, laid on the frat-boy charm at the Colorado Springs ceremony yesterday.

Instead of congratulatory handshakes and a modest pat on the back, graduating Air Force cadets were greeted on stage by a playful president ready to bump chests or pose for the camera flexing his arm muscles, striking a football pose or blowing kisses to the crowd.

Buket Busted - helL.A.

A prolific graffiti artist known as Buket has been arrested after police watched him tag a Hollywood freeway sign in a YouTube video.

The popular video, with nearly 190,000 page views, shows Cyrus Yazdani precariously climbing underneath a bridge and tagging "Buket" on the sign in broad daylight, while cars speed by on the freeway below.

The Internet sensation was nabbed by LA police when he showed up to meet with his probation officer and received multiple charges of vandalism.

The 24-year-old with an art degree has allegedly already caused US$150,000 ($155,768) worth of damage by tagging freeway overpasses, concrete walls and buses.

2. Wu Tang - Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) (1993)

Coming straight from staten island NY come Wu Tang in 93 - a group of then 9 (sometimes 10) thuggish looking performers none of which are playing any instruments - may have seemed very different at the time but resulted in one of the best albums ever. I was lucky enough to see the clan perform live (minus the deceased Ol Dirty Bastard) in the US earlier this year as they got back together for the 8 Diagrams promotional tour and they put on an unforgettable show.

Debut album from the rappers rapper; Nas. Illmatic is without a doubt Nas' best material to date. Even in the midst of arguably hip hops biggest MC battle between Nas and Jay Z, Jay was willing to admit that "4 albums in 10 years?....two of them shits was doo, one was ehhhh the other was Illmatic, thats a one hot album every 10 year average".

Man tries selling 'slag' wife on eBay

A father-of-two who suspected his wife was having an affair with another man exacted his revenge by trying to sell her on eBay.

Paul Osborn, from the UK, booted his wife Sharon from their home and listed her on the auction website.

His description of a "lying, cheating, adulterous slag of a wife" attracted worldwide attention with bids going as high as $1,000,000 the UK's Sun newspaper reports.

Mrs Osborn denied ever having an affair and police are now investigating claims of harassment.

The 44-year-old said he had his wife's extramarital affair confirmed when he read her emails.

"I started checking her emails and I realised the rumours were true - they had been discussing their sex life together and making plans for the future," Mr Osborn was quoted as saying.

"In a fit of rage I put the advert on eBay. I later took it off because I realised it wasn’t the right thing to do. "I was just so angry."

A police complaint was made against Mr Osborn by his wife and her friend, who both have said "nothing is going on".

6. Big L - The Big Picture (2000)

Technically not a 90's album - it was released in 2000 but I figure that seeing as Big L was fatally shot in 1999, that this could qualify. For an artist that never really broke out of the underground scene, Big L managed to gain a cult following among fans, perhaps through the constant use of his music in snowboard and skate movies, and references to his lyrical skills throughout countless songs by popular artists (Eminem, Nas, GangStarr). There is a track out there that has Big L and Jay Z trading freestyle verses over a beat for over 7 minutes that sees L rip Jay Z to shreds...before anyone had ever heard of Jay. Stand out tracks on this album include Size 'Em Up, The Heist, Fall Back and Ebonics where L breaks down almost every slang term ever used by himself and other rappers.

1.The Big Picture (Intro)
2.Ebonics
3.Size ‘Em Up
4.Deadly Combination (feat. 2Pac)
5.‘98 Freestyle

9. Dr. Dre - The Chronic (1992)

The first solo effort from the west coast's most celebrated producer, Dre introduces us to his lyrical prowess, Snoop Doggy Dogg and his love for the greener things in life (quite a contradiction to his N.W.A days that had Dre telling us that he "doesn't smoke weed or cess cos its known to give a brother brain damage..."). Ah well maybe he's better for it as this goes down as number 9 on my list of top ten albums of the 90's with classic cuts such as Let Me Ride, Wit Dre Day and everyones favourite old school Dre and Snoop joint; Nuthin' But a "G" Thang. Albums like this give hope to hip hop coming out of California...now if only Detox ever drops...

Business As Usual

A Month on Dope terrifies journalist

A BBC journalist says she began losing her mind while smoking cannabis for a month as part of a television experiment.
Mother-of-three Nicky Taylor, 43, suffered paranoia, fear and anxiety after smoking marijuana every day as part of a documentary into the long-term effects of the drug. And when she allowed herself to be injected with pure THC — the active ingredient in cannabis — she had a psychotic episode the equivalent of a schizophrenic attack. "I felt absolutely terrified," Taylor said. "Paranoia set in, and I felt as if I was having a panic attack. "At one point, I was simply too frightened to get out of my chair … I had a feeling the drug had unlocked some sort of paranoia in my head that would never go away again." Taylor filmed her experiment for the BBC documentary "Should I Smoke Dope?", which airs tonight in Britain. She admits to experimenting with cannabis while at university 20 years ago, but says today's hydroponically-grown "skunk" is far stronger and more dangerous. But it was the THC injection that Taylor says "totally wrecked my mind". "I was thinking about jumping out of a window," she said. A psychological score rated her psychosis as greater than that found in some people suffering a schizophrenic attack. Taylor has experimented on herself before. In the past, she has filmed herself receiving plastic surgery, binge drinking and not bathing or showering for six weeks. Taylor has reportedly suffered no permanent damage.

Shock Doc; looks like Nicky Taylor is building upon success she had with other documentary's such as "not bathing or showering for six weeks". Fascinating stuff, but injecting pot? Gotta wonder if Taylor's "paranoia, anxiety and fear" is a result of being an idiot.

On the flipside, here's a doco that may disprove some of Taylor's findings:

You know that movie Super Size Me, where that guy Morgan Spurlock ate McDonald’s every meal for 30 days? People actually paid money to see that. Well, if that’s a movie, I’ve got a movie! I’m going to smoke pot every day for 30 days, and it’s going to be called Super High Me, or Business As Usual… I haven’t decided on a title yet. But guess what? McDonald’s is going to be in my movie too! - Doug Benson

As part of his journey, Doug smokes, eats and vaporizes medical marijuana for thirty consecutive days in order to get “Super High.” But there is a catch–first Doug must go thirty days without any marijuana and undertakes a number of tests, completing the same tests while medicated and while sober, in an effort to find out what marijuana does and how it really affects people. Along the way, we follow Doug as he goes out on the road to stand up gigs across the country and hangs out with fellow comedians Sarah Silverman, Bob Odenkirk and Patton Oswalt.

Different outcome?

We'll see come 420
